Few work in progress...

Here are two paintings I'm working on right now..
Top one is going to be a collab with my friend Tyrel for the Square foot Group show coming up on August 16th at AWOL gallery in Toronto.

looking slick! Hey do you have to gesso the wood panel at all before you paint?

Francis: thanks, for these pieces, i coated the wood with a bit of acrylic paint for a base colour (burnt umber in this case) then, i drew my pencil sketch and the used 2 layers of matte medium..('matte medium' is like gesso but it is transparent so u can still have some of the wood texture showing through a bit.) Hope that helps!

Francis: also if u're painting in oils, the matte medium helps you block the oil paint from sinking into the wood and making the colours weaker.
